Estudios de Sociolingüística. Linguas, sociedades e culturas (EdS) will have two issues a year. EdS addresses to a national and international specialized reading public, and adopts a wide conception towards the limits of this discipline. This journal assumes as of its own the interdisciplinary character of sociolinguistics.
    The Editors of EdS want to invite researchers to contribute to this journal, sending us papers and reviews. A part of the issues of EdS will be monographical. We will accept proposals from contributors to prepare and edit collective monographical issues. EdS leaves room for contributions about traditional questions in this discipline and for related fields, such as: pragmatics, discourse analysis, conversational analysis, interactional linguistics, ethnography of communication, linguistic anthropology, ethnomethodology, language acquisition and socialization, etc. Clearly, we assume as natural the differences between schools or research orientations, and all of them will take up equally a space in this journal.
    EdS will pay a special attention to those theoric and methodological contributions from sociology, social psychology or anthropology that can be useful to give consistence to the theoric and methodological principles of sociolinguistics, and to the spreading among sociolinguists of the conceptual evolution in the social sciences. Likewise, EdS considers the studies on bilingualism, an essential field of conection of sociolinguistics to other disciplines (psycholinguistics, linguistic anthropology, pedagogy, etc.) and will dedicate to these an important attention.
